Ingredients:
1 Digital camera
1 Talking llama
8 Peruvians
1 Festival
1 Spanish version of Windows Movie Maker
35 Bolivian internet cafes
A sense of humour
A lot of patience
Take the digital camera and persuade Peruvians to say your name in front of it, using various Spanish words that don't really fully explain what it is you're trying to do. Nobody will understand that you are filming instead of taking a photo, no matter how many times you say the Spanish words for video and film or how many times they give you an understanding, enthusiastic nod. Skip around this problem by using the patience and the sense of humour.
Next, make your way home by hitchhiking on the back of an auto rickshaw. Whilst doing so, decide that this makes a great setting for the opening of your video and quickly write a rhyme (although nobody will pick up on this) about Peru.
Meet a Swiss traveller in the street and allow him to take you to see some llamas by the lake. Utilise the llamas. (Contrary to popular belief, no dubbing was used for the llama clip. This llama just happened to open it's mouth and make a noise at the exact time I said 'Sarah'. Legend. It did also spit in my face though, so I guess we're even).
Now you have all the necessary components for your video, travel to Bolivia - the country with probably the slowest internet connection and most pre-historic computers in South America. Download Spanish versions of Windows Movie Maker and Audacity. Quickly learn a few Spanish swear words - these will come in handy over the next couple of days for every time you upload a video and the computer crashes. They can also be re-used later when your USB stick with final project on is stolen and you have to start again.
Make yourself very unpopular by asking an entire internet cafe full of people to be quiet for 10 minutes while you record you audio track.
Add water and stir.
Now you have your final project, all you need to do is traipse around every internet cafe in Bolivia until you find one that is fast enough to upload your video. This should take about two weeks. When you find it, sit for an hour and a half while uploading takes place. If you want to, you may also have a nervous breakdown during this time.
Eventually, you should see text appear on the screen saying 'Thank you for your application'. You may now leave the internet cafe and wait for the good news.
